More than 30 criminal cases involving 'Fake Sheikh' to be reviewed in light of Tulisa trial

More than 30 criminal cases that relied on evidence given by undercover reporter Mazher Mahmood are being reviewed in light of the collapse of the Tulisa Contostavlos drugs trial.
The Crown Prosecution Service is looking again at the cases - as well as three that are still going on - after a judge ended the pop singer's trial because there were "strong grounds" to believe the Sun reporter had lied in court and manipulated evidence.
A police inquiry into football match fixing and the prosecution of a doctor for allegedly selling abortion pills are among the ongoing cases, relying on evidence garnered by the 'Fake Sheikh', that are affected, according to the Independent.
Mr Mahmood's integrity has been called into question by the collapse of Tulisa's trial, where she was accused of being involved in the supply of cocaine to Mahmood, who was posing as a wealthy film producer offering the former X Factor presenter a role alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.
In light of this, CPS lawyers may look again at the the Sun reporter's evidence to test it for accuracy, the Independent reported.
